AI Context & Instructions
AI Context controls the background information and instructions that Vantage's AI uses when generating responses. By configuring context, you ensure that all AI features — from the global assistant to tile summaries and workflow nodes — produce responses tailored to your business.
Organization-Level Context (Snippets)
Context snippets are set during onboarding or in Settings → AI Features → Context:
| Snippet | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Company Overview | What your company does, your products/services, and target audience |
| Industry & Market | Your industry for relevant benchmarks and terminology |
| Company Website | Your website URL for reference |
These snippets are automatically included in every AI request across the platform. When you set your industry to "Healthcare," for example, AI responses will use healthcare-specific terminology and benchmarks.
Setting Up Context Snippets
- Go to Settings → AI Features → Context.
- Fill in the context fields (Company Overview, Industry, etc.).
- Click "Save Context".
Alternatively, context is automatically populated during onboarding if you use the AI Auto-Fill feature in Step 2 of Account Setup.
Custom AI Instructions
Custom instructions are free-text directives appended to every AI request:
- Go to Settings → AI Features → Context.
- Enter instructions in the Custom AI Instructions field.
- Click "Save Context".
Examples
Always format numbers with commas and two decimal places.
Focus on quarter-over-quarter trends when analyzing financial data.
Respond concisely with bullet points.
Use metric units.
Don't include disclaimers in responses.
Custom instructions affect all AI features — the global assistant, tile summaries, AI workflow nodes, and query generation.
AI Query Settings
Configure how AI processes data queries in Settings → AI Features → Query Settings:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Process Large Datasets | When enabled, AI processes all rows for more accurate results (slower). When disabled, AI samples data for faster results (may miss edge cases). |
Click "Save Query Settings" to apply changes.
Learned Knowledge Feed
The Learned Knowledge Feed in Settings shows what the AI has learned about your company and data patterns over time. This contextual knowledge improves AI responses as you use the platform.

All context is combined and sent with each AI call, ensuring consistent, personalized responses regardless of which feature initiates the request.
Organization vs. Company Context
| Level | Scope |
|---|---|
| Company-level context | Applies to all users within a single company |
| Organization-level context | Applies to all users across all companies in the organization |
Organization-level context is useful for agencies or multi-department setups where a shared business context is needed across all teams.
