Creating & Managing Dashboards — Walkthrough Guide
Overview
Dashboards are the core of the Vantage platform. They are customizable layouts of tiles — individual data visualization widgets — that display your business data in real time. You can create multiple dashboards, share them with your team, and configure each tile independently.
Creating a New Dashboard
- Click the "+" button or "New Dashboard" option in the sidebar.
- Enter a name for your dashboard.
- Choose the visibility:
- Private — Only you can see it.
- Company — All users in your company can view it.
- Organization — All users across the organization can view it (requires organization membership).
- Click "Create" to open the empty dashboard.
Adding Tiles
Using the Tile Library
- Click "Add Tile" or the "+" button on the dashboard.
- The Tile Library modal opens, showing all available tile types.
- Browse or search for the tile type you want (e.g., Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Table, Stat, etc.).
- Click a tile to add it to the dashboard.
- The tile appears on the dashboard grid with default settings.

Vantage offers 40+ tile types across multiple categories:

Configuring Tiles
Edit Tile Modal
- Click the edit icon (pencil) on any tile, or double-click the tile.
- The Edit Tile Modal opens with configuration options:
- Data Source — Select your data connection and query.
- Visualization Settings — Customize colors, labels, axes, sorting, etc.
- Title & Description — Set the tile header and optional description.
- Filters — Apply data filters.
- AI Settings — Configure AI-powered summaries and insights for this tile.
- Click "Save" to apply your changes.
Resizing & Moving Tiles
- Drag a tile by its header to move it around the dashboard grid.
- Resize a tile by dragging its edges or corners.
- The grid automatically adjusts to accommodate tile positions.
Dashboard Editor Sidebar
The Dashboard Editor Sidebar provides additional controls:
- Dashboard name and description editing.
- Layout options — Grid density, spacing, and alignment.
- Share settings — Control who can view the dashboard.
- Export options — Export the dashboard as PDF or image.
Managing Dashboards
Listing Dashboards
The sidebar shows your dashboards organized by:
- Mine — Dashboards you created.
- Company — Dashboards shared at the company level.
- Organization — Dashboards shared at the organization level.
Deleting a Dashboard
- Open the Manage Dashboards modal from the sidebar.
- Find the dashboard you want to delete.
- Click the delete (trash) icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
Setting a Default Dashboard
- Go to Settings → Dashboard & Sidebar.
- Select a dashboard from the Default Dashboard dropdown.
- Click "Save Layout".
- This dashboard will now load automatically when you sign in.
Sharing Dashboards
Dashboards can be shared at three levels:
- Private — Only the creator can see it.
- Company — All users in the same company can view it.
- Organization — All users in the organization can view it (cross-company sharing must be enabled in Organization Settings).
You can also copy a direct link to a dashboard to share it with specific users.
AI Features on Dashboards
Each tile can leverage AI for:
- Tile Summaries — AI-generated explanations of what the data shows.
- Insights — AI-detected trends, anomalies, and recommendations.
- Query Generation — Use natural language to query your data via the AI assistant.
- Popup AI Chat — Click into a tile and ask questions about the specific data.
