Segment Track Event Documentation

Overview

The Segment Track Event node is part of the Segment integration in the Vantage workflow engine. Track a user event with properties in Segment.

This node uses the Segment API through Vantage's managed credential system — no manual token handling required.

How It Works

1. Receives input data from upstream nodes through configured input ports.
2. Authenticates with Segment using your connected credentials.
3. Executes the API operation with the provided configuration and input data.
4. Returns the result through the output port for downstream processing.

Error handling is built in — if the API call fails, the node throws a descriptive error with the failure reason.

• Input: Accepts data in object or array format from upstream nodes.
• Output: Returns the Segment API response as structured data.
